This is an update on the Chrono Underground project - a fresh idea designed to get young people interacting in an exciting place. Right now I, project director, am studying at the University of Iowa and haven't had the opportunity to keep up with getting more fundraising and publicity for this plan.

Good afternoon! I wanted to take a moment to announce the fact that we may soon be changing the name of the project to something more creative and imaginative and local. Chrono Underground is a very unique, hard to forget name, but we are hoping to create a new name with the sort of recognition that will bring plenty of attention to our project.

Announcing our new proposed name: Muscateen Center. Send us your comments, suggestions, thoughts, and more.

(Muscatine Journal) MUSCATINE, Iowa - Nathan Cory Foutch wants a place in Muscatine where he can 'throw down' with friends.

But the 19-year-old doesn't want to fight.

"When gamers get together ... we pretty much challenge our skills — any video game, anytime, anywhere kind of thing," Foutch said.

He and four teenage friends spent several months planning a youth video game center they are asking the community to help get off the ground.

The center would offer youth a variety of games to play on Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 video game consoles, or online on computers.

Events

We hope to hold special events frequently, attracting even more people to our gaming center. These events may include prize drawings, art contests, video game contests, card game tournaments, all night lan parties, Friday night magic, D&D nights, free pass days, birthday parties, holiday celebrations, gift exchanges, special guests, speakers, book clubs, technology seminars, idea forums, and many others.

Events will hopefully be fun and interactive, drawing a lot of community excitement. Video game contests will hopefully offer prizes from local merchants, card game tournaments (note: not playing cards) will attract out of town players.
