Young people all across Muscatine County agree: there is nothing to do. The fundamental reason we began this project is to give all area young people something more to do, and thus keep them happier and out of trouble.
With a project as creative and imaginative as ours, we want to be as supportive of creative, imaginative projects as possible. Open source software is yet another one of the breakthrough evolutions of the modern age, blending ideas and imagination with dedication and teamwork - which is exactly what we're trying to do.
We started this project right at the beginning of 2008, to try to get the community rallied together behind young people in Muscatine. Our youth are often given so few opportunities, and wind up abusing drugs and alcohol.

The Plan For Muscatine Youth
Young people need something to do in Muscatine - they've got next to nothing. We have a YMCA which offers adults special shower rooms, and forces young kids to change in a closet. Our bowling alley is filled with smoke and costs a fortune. The 'arcade' we have in the mall is a dark, unfeeling hole-in-the-wall. Young people in Muscatine are given no alternative forms of entertainment, and so when the pressures of life build up their only options are drug and alcohol abuse.We Must Change This - and we will! We will open a youth-owned, youth-controlled center to provide a positive place for young people to hang out.
